NOTE FROM STROUD DISTRICT COUNCIL

30 December 2020

Unfortunately Covid cases continue to rise in the county and in the country more generally. In today’s tiering review, Gloucestershire will move up into tier 4 from the beginning of tomorrow, Thursday 31 December 2020. Please see this PDF and below for the full tiering announcement.

Full details of what you can and can’t do in tier 4 can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/tier-4-stay-at-home and a useful summary poster can be found here: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/946417/COVID-19_Tier_4__19_December_2020_.pdf.

Under tier 4 rules, non-essential shops must close (except for click and collect and delivery) as must beauty salons, hairdressers, indoor leisure, gyms, and people are limited to meeting in a public outdoor place with their household, or one other person. People must work from home unless they are unable to do so and can only travel or stay overnight away from home for a few specified reasons.

Pubs, restaurants and hospitality etc remain closed as for tier 3 (except for takeaway, drive through or delivery).

We are still awaiting an announcement on education but unless further restrictions are announced, we are expecting schools to open for phased return next week.

We will be updating our website to reflect today’s announcements. Unfortunately our leisure centres will now have to completely close again.

A note from Cllr Mark Hawthorne (Leader) and Sarah Scott (Director of Public Health)

20 October 2020

Our six-step action plan is now in place across the county, as local action continues to slow the spread of Covid-19. The measures will support the Government’s new three-tier system, announced last week.

Whilst, thankfully, cases of Covid  remain lower than many other parts of the country - they are rising. The six steps for Gloucestershire will focus on protecting our most vulnerable residents, increasing enforcement action and, importantly, a call to us all to work together, and for each other, by following the public health guidance put in place to keep us safe. This is especially important as we head into the Winter months, where demand for health and social care services is at its highest.

An infographic outlining the measures can be found here.

We know everyone has already been working hard to keep to the guidance, but it is more important that ever that we don’t give up. Visit www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/covid19 for information, advice and help.

Many thanks

Cllr Mark Hawthorne (Leader) and Sarah Scott (Director of Public Health)

Co-op Stores - Coronavirus Support

7th April 2020

You may or may not be aware that the CO-OP Stores are teaming up with local volunteering organisations to allow food shopping to be delivered to the most vulnerable people in their area.

We have received a lovely recommendation from Irena of Leonard Stanley Parish Council "I would like to acknowledge the fantastic help given by the Co-op in Stonehouse, where those residents can email/ring them and they will pick, pack and give me a call to collect their orders."

Residents are able to phone their local store and the Co-op staff are able to take a click and collect style payment over the phone so that no money needs to change hands between residents and volunteers. The shopping will therefore already be paid for prior to collection.

Below is a link to the main Co-op website where you can find your local store contact details and get updates on the support they are providing at this time.

If you have a store near your area or within a few miles please do contact the store manager and find out how you can work together to support those most in need.

Click here to find your local Co-op store

Please feel free to share this information or if you have any other tips and tricks that are working well for you please do let us know so that we can pass them on.

Thank you again for all the work you are doing within your local communities at this time it is very much appreciated.
